So I call myself a Christian.
A label that literally defines me as a believer.
Call ourselves followers of Jesus Christ; but do we lean in, really live it?
Could you bet on the glory and might in His name?
Say what you will but your life will speak for your beliefs.
I think some of us have forgotten.
Or decided that the power doesn't apply in present time.
Maybe you think the authority is meant for angels and saints.
Just like that - disbelief quietly destroys the places and the times.
When and where you were supposed to show up in the power of His name.
The opportunities to light up a dark place.
The Word already said our fight isn't against flesh and blood;
It's against powers and rulers of darkness and the spiritually wicked.
To know Him and still deny the way, the truth, the light, it takes special blindness.
Missing the whole point with a target on your back.
While your enemy lurks, God is faithful and good to offer armor in His Word.
Just think of all the names that invoke your emotions and give you cause for reaction.
Moving you to anger or elation.
Or experiencing some instant gratification.
Funny how you know that you know these lesser names hold some kind of power to affect you.
Yet you refuse and ignore the power in the name of Jesus.
Out here fighting naked because you haughtily leave your shield and sword behind.
He is the great I Am.
Don't make Him reintroduce Himself.
More real than any of the dissipating vapors the world offers.
Good yesterday, today and forever.
Make a choice to proclaim the power and may it all be for His glory and honor.
